One is just called a "bass combo" amp and the other is called an "aluminum cone bass combo", and the aluminum cone amp is $20 more. I didn't see any other difference. What does the aluminum cone do, and is it worth the $20?

Aluminum cone speakers are a LOT stiffer than paper or poly cones. In my opinion and experience, they are more efficient at producing bass. I like the sound of aluminum bass cones better, too. They produce "tighter" bass.

If the difference is only $20 and everything else is equal (power output, controls, inputs, etc.) between the two amps then go for the aluminum.

Looks like the same exact thing to me, except the aluminum cone amp has a speaker made of aluminum. I'd go for the bass combo.

Either way, Musician's Friend seems to be the best dealer I've found, so that's probably the cheapest you'll get that amp for anyway.

Edit: I really don't know the difference between cones. I don't even have a bass amp for my bass; I just plug it into my Marshall or Line 6 guitar amp.

The aluminum cone refers to the material that the speaker cone is made of. An aluminum cone speaker will be a little stiffer and provide a little more low end kick. It will also last longer than a paper cone speaker. Since you're obviously looking at getting a new bass amp..check out these amps by SWR.

1x15 will give you more low-end (bass) to your playing. 2x10 will give you more high-end (treble)
