I really want to buy a Canon 70-200mmm L f/2.8 (Non IS)
The best price I found is $1,112 @ B&H photo
I saw the same lens @ Adorama for $ 929 -But it is “REFURBISHED BY CANON”

Would anyone suggest not buying a REFURBISHED lens?
If so, why not?

Thanks for the feedback

Marvin

the standard one really isn't that great.... Looking for one with a much better zoom but I dont really understand much about lenses themselves... A price indication would be fab, too... PREFERABLY IN UK STERLING .
Thanks in advance!

I don't want anything too complicated. I just take candid snapshots of my friends and family. But the stupid camera I have now (CoolPix) has a 3 second delay from the time I click the button until it takes the picture. If anything within the frame moves in those 3 seconds my picture is ruined. I'm looking to spend $500.00 or less.

I've read that the image stabilization is maybe not so great. Is that really true? And are there any other negative sides to this camera?

I'm looking to buy a digital camera and I realized, I don't know what any of this stuff means!
What is digital and optical zoom, and the difference or importance of them?
What do all these terms mean?

-Central/Spot/Matrix Metering
-MPEG4 Video with Audio (the MPEG4 part)
-15 Scene Mode and 11 Digital Filters
-1.6" TFT LCD
- CCD optical sensor and CMOS sensor
-Digital Filter, PASM Exposure
-L/R Adjustment
-Image Sensor and Pixel Array
-ISO
I know, it's a lot to describe, but i'd really appriciate the help, if i know what these mean maybe i won't get ripped off.
And please, keep it in lamance terms if you could! xD Thank you in advance!

Is the D70s a good choice? I have a decent portfolio, I have taken beautiful pictures, but I would like to take it to the next level. What classes should I take and what camera should I buy? And what sort of accesories should I buy to help me shoot great photos?

I ordered the canon SD700 from a website. They sent me the canon IXY800 IS which is the same camera sold in Japan with a different name but has no warranty outside of Japan. Anyone else faced a similar problem ? What is the best way to deal with this problem ?
