I really want to buy a Canon 70-200mmm L f/2.8 (Non IS)
The best price I found is $1,112 @ B&H photo
I saw the same lens @ Adorama for $ 929 -But it is “REFURBISHED BY CANON”

Would anyone suggest not buying a REFURBISHED lens?
If so, why not?

Thanks for the feedback

Marvin

I found out that the refurbished lens comes with 90day warranty and comes with lens hood, soft case but not tripot collard.

Do you think that's worth it?

That is a $183 savings. Is the warranty the same as new or is it for a shorter period of time? Does it come with all the things that the new one does or are pieces missing?

Until you can answer these questions, you can't really say if it is a good deal or not.

Personally, I would consider it a bad deal if the warranty is shorter

Canons are excellent cameras , and considering the fact that things can go wrong with a new one ( and I can attest to that ) , at least a refurbished one has been checked out and hopefully replaced with a new lens or at least one in perfect condition . That's not a bad savings if you get a good warranty with it . Read the fine print first .
