In this age of Government pressure to be greener, recycle goods etc would it not be a plan for them to start attacking manufactures that make goods designed to last 12 months 2-3 days then break?

If the goods we bought were built to last (as was the situation in the old days) then our landfill sites wouldn't be full of fridges and other redundant electrical equipment just outside their warrantee. Has anyone ever looked into the circuitry of items produced to see if they are in fact adding in self destruct timers?

Yes, if they build thing to last then they are effectively narrowing their market but the electrical product scrapheap certainly needs sorting!

This is going to sound stupid, but how exactly do Sony know when you've had your PS3? When exactly does the warranty start, and do you have to do anything or send something off to start the actual 1 year warranty...I was wondering, as the manual isn't helpful! cheers

i like how sd630 it has a 3' LCD screen

but i also like how A630 has a swivel-rotating-angle LCD screen, except it's only a 2.5' LCD screen

can both record movies (with audio), for up to an hr?

which is better for battery?
which lasts longer for battery?

as picture quality i was viewing photos between the two modules and i think the A630 takes better photos , probably because its 8MP whereas the SD630 is 6MP

I downloaded about 5 different podcast channels. (so it can't be a problem about podcast file type) They show up on my computer and play fine on my computer, but when i sync my ipod with my computer none of the podcasts show up in any of my playlists. My songs and movies show up though. What could be the problem?

I'm mainly concerned about the wattage.
The receiver is 85 watts X7 (so called 7.1).
When the receiver is in bi-amp mode, it changes from 7.1 to 5.1 channels.
The 2 rear surround channels (85wX2) are combined with the 2 Front channels(85wX2).
Does this mean i'll be getting 170wX2
The Polk RTi6 speakers can only take 120 watts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok i was thinking of buying a memory stick for my PS3 and everyday uses. I dont need that much memory so 1gb would be more then enough. If I watch a movie on my tv, we always end up turning the volume up all the way because we can't hear the people talking. Even when it's on full blast, the voices are even soft. So if they whisper, you can't hear ANYTHING. But then the music comes in, and blows you away it's so loud. Why are they not at the same volume level? I watch movies on my computer and the problem does not exist. It's only on the TV. Someone told me it had something to do with 'audio compression.' How do I fix this?

riiiite.
i play guitar and i want to put some videos up of me in the internet of me playing and singing.

i seem to get a slightly distored sound when i play it back.
it is just me and my acoustic guitar. no amplifiers on my voice or the guitar.

I have a Receiver, DVD player, DVR/Satellite Tuner, TV. Whats the best way to connect all of these? Is there an advantage to connecting video inputs to the receiver or is it better to connect the video inputs directly to the TV and the audio inputs to the receiver?

I bought a refurbished XBox 360 from an eBay seller. I sent it back to the seller for repairs/replacement. If this next XBox 360 fails, is it possible for me to send it to Microsoft for a repair/replacement? Firstly, Blu-Ray player works cos me have Casino Royale and Hellboy Blu-Ray and they seem to work innit.

Bought Night in Museum Blu-Ray, plaid it and a warning screen came up in German- Achtung- etc. It was just stuck on that screen and i pressed play, resume etc and nothin happened

I returned it and they gave me another disk and same ting happened. The same German message came up

other dvds work- but how can two night in museum dvds not work

me really confused- the dvd cost me 15 squid.

whats the problem?

its a blu-ray player on laptop- all other blu-ray dvds work fine

the 2 night in museum dvds are region b

please help

My MATSUI dvd player (model: dvd320) won't work anymore. It was on standby and I turned the power off, just to turn it back on. It didn't turn back on. I've tried multiple times . What should I do? I just bought this in Janurary, and I'm not technology savvy, so I just want suggestions.

this has been going on and off. Sometimes it will switch from theater wide 1 to theater wide 2. most commonly from wide to full though. I unplugged cables and put them into different source and the reception was worse, plugged them back into original HDMV source and it stopped for a day or so, but has started back. I dont know if it is the tv or the cable company/box.

Is experinet the way to go? I was looking at vidoReQuest as well. Are there others out there that are good?
What I want is to have access to my roughly 700 DVD's on the TV screen (in multiple rooms), be able to search by Actor, cover art, etc.
I also want it to be adaptable to HD-DVD/Blu-ray and so want it to be able to project at 1080p and upconvert my standard DVDs.
