i dont have that i have had it for awhile now and ya it is on and akll it does is like make noises and then doesnt do anything and it runs on charge

i just had that happen to me ,,, the battery was not charging ,,,, replace the battery and it should work ,,, i had a loose connection where it plugs in .. now i use tape to keep it tight ,,, it has been working ever since...

I'm going to assume that you mean the lens won't "retract" and not that you are trying to insert the lens into something.
Make sure the power is on and that the battery is good.
Try reading the owners manual. It may have a section with FAQs that have your problem explained.

This has happened to my camera before and all it needed was new batteries. Have you tried this? Hope it helps!

try changing (recharging )the battery
