this has been going on and off. Sometimes it will switch from theater wide 1 to theater wide 2. most commonly from wide to full though. I unplugged cables and put them into different source and the reception was worse, plugged them back into original HDMV source and it stopped for a day or so, but has started back. I dont know if it is the tv or the cable company/box.

This will happen during regular programming...while show is in process. Does not happen between programming. It will switch around b/t full screen, wide 1, wide 2 constantly during the programming by itself.

To reply to the 2nd Answer...I have done that...and after I select the mode I want...it eventually switches itself back to full again by itself.

Your TV has an "AUTO FORMAT" function....this allows the TV to change from theater 1 to theater 2 without you manually changing it yourself....
It's set to AUTO....set it for your preferred setting or set it to "Off"
The picture will stop changing its format.....
Look in the menu for the Screen ICON....I think that's the one...
Or try the picture ICON....

your TV is only in full screen when the show you are watching is broadcast in high def. When a standard def program comes on, it flips to wide screen or whatever you have your TV set on. you may have a setting on your TV to auto format, that will solve your problem

theres nothing wrong with your telly-nip in to the picture menu select picture mode (or size) then select 16.9 then press "ok" or store-this ought to sort it.
