1. to block the telemarketers, you got to the National Do Not Call List, not your telephone company.

2. Blocking numbers actually depends which company provides your local phone service and the type of central office equipment you are connected to. But the answer is yes, you can block specific phone numbers. The service may be called Call Block depending on where you live, It may also be known as a "CLASS CALLING FEATURE", like Star 69 or return call, or repeat call. You may find information in the front of your white pages phone book. If it isn't there, call your local phone company. You probably have to subscribe to the service.

Well, there are 2 ways to go.

1. Use "Call Block". Right after the pest calls, dial *60. Then dial #01#. That will block the call.

1b. If that number is not the last call, you have to enter it in by hand.

2. If that doest work, you can just watch your Caller ID, and only answer non-pests. :)

As far as I know, you can't do that on a land line. If someone is harrassing you, you can get a restraining order, making them calling you illegal. Hope that helps.

you would need to buy a caller id manager, it will allow you to program numbers that can call you, or numbers you wish to block
