recording a video?

riiiite.
i play guitar and i want to put some videos up of me in the internet of me playing and singing.

i seem to get a slightly distored sound when i play it back.
it is just me and my acoustic guitar. no amplifiers on my voice or the guitar.
what can i do to stop this n oise and get a quality recording??

1. if you are using miniDV, make sure you have the 16 bit audio selected. many models default to the 12 bit setting which is compressed audio.
2. if your camera has an external mic input, use that. this allows the mic pickup to be much closer to you than the camera placement.
