First thing I would check is the cord and outlet. See if there are any damage to the power cord, flex it back and forth while it is plugged in and see if you can get the DVD player to turn on. You also might want to check the outlet and see if the circuit breaker or GFI might have tripped.
If these things don't work, it sounds like you might have a problem the DVD player itself. It is not uncommon for some of the cheaper DVD's to suddenly stop working, it has happened to me on one I bought in China.
Good luck!

matsui is currys own brand, so you can expect this kind of promblems. You do get what you pay for,
Take it back to the shop, with the reciept. and upgrade to a known make.

If you have turned the power on & there are no lights on your machine then either the fuse in your plug has gone, your electricity is off or your machine is faulty. so check that you don't have a power cut, change the fuse in the plug & then if this still doesn't work take the machine back to the shop

If you've still got the receipt, take it back to where it came from. It should have a twelve month warranty.
I got a matsui telly and it's been great!

If you buy cheap junk(Matsui is cheap junk) you must expect it to die. Your only hope is if your warranty is still good, but you will still have a Matsui.

If you bought it in Jan you've still got the rest of the year left on your warranty.
Unless you cheap-skated it from some place, hee hee.
