i have an ipod but all of my friends say they arnt as good. are they right?

I convert movies from my DV camcorder, and some video clips from the internet, however the audio levels always seem too high for the DVD standards, so I have to lower them with an editor (just by guessing what they should be). Usually it works out fine, but knowing what the max and min levels would help.

I have 2 ideas on how to control an MP3 player, but I'm only 13. Would I have to show a prototype of the ideas to a patent office to get a patent on my idea? If so, is there an easy-to-use website that has 3d models of existing players that are easy to change with a 7th grade education? I want to get the patents so I can sell them to a company.

He just passed away and he has some interesting things. I don't want to sell something at a garage sale that would be worth more to a collector or expert. How do I find out.

I don't want to change service providers and since Cingular took over, I'd have to change cell phones and sim cards and sign up for a two year contract. I want to just get a phone w/o a contract and stay in the AT&T network on current plan and pop in my sim card.

I can't do tech support because they charge for it and the people in the Apple forums aren't any help. My dad got this for Mom for Christmas and it's well over its 30 year warranty (if we want it replaced, we'd have to pay for it). I've tried everything; restoring it, resetting it, etc. My dad is now convinced that Apple products are pieces of crap (my Nano died a month after I got it and thankfully, I have a 2 yr. warranty with Best Buy).

My dad is strongly considering a battery powered MP3 player like SanDisk (he got one for himself at Office Depot for $70 that came with a mail-in rebate) to get for Mom instead of paying for another replacement.

What suggestions do you guys have? Should I fix Mom's Shuffle or forget Apple altogether and have Dad get her a SanDisk? Or pay whatever x amount of dollars to have the Shuffle replaced?

By the way, this happened a couple of months ago. I also noticed that some Shuffle users had the same problem with the same results.

I currently have a Canon PowerShot a60. I love Canon cameras. This one, however, is getting a bit dated. It's only a 2.0 megapixel. I also notice that it takes a lot of blurry pictures.

I'm interested in something new. Size does not matter to me at all. I want clear shots. I do like cameras that can take sequential pictures very quickly. I like to be able to use 'auto', but also customoize my settings (iso, aperture, shutter speed, etc).

I'll probably buy used--off of ebay or something. I can't afford anything too expensive, so don't start listed $800 cameras. :P
Any suggestions?
