You see I have both microsoft office 2007 and 2003 but most computeres at school use micrsoft office 2003 and my printer has been sketchy! Any way when I open a microsoft 2003 word file in word 2007 will it change the extenintion when i save it?

A text file which came with it says that to open the file you need to uncompress it using sol compression software. It says that it is a newer compression technology and achieves 35% more compression than winrar.
Has anybody ever heard of it .If so where to download it. I tried seaching for sol compression software but no use

Hey i need a converter that will convert .vob to .avi and .tob to avi and the product needs to be good cos i have adobe premier to edit with but everytime i import a file i have already converted using this other program it says unknown compression or something like that. i hve heaps of stuff i need to edit but i cant! please helop!!

I'm trying to make a skin for a website, but of course, like every site, there are restrictions on the sizes :( No matter what I do, I can't get the file down to the size it is supposed to be (in a JPEG format.) I'm using photoshop. Even just a black background with a file size of zero (obviously the smallest) is too big. I know I'm doing something wrong, because there are really elaborate and animated skins on here. It has happened to me a few times on different sites. What can I do about this?

Something similar to SoulSeek, which is simple and low on resources. It also lets you see the speed of the host's connection. I tend to look for obscure music, so I want something that connects to a lot of networks. That is all I am looking for.

NOT Limewire, Ares, Morpheus, or any Torrent programs. I see people always answer with Limewire, it is not what I am looking for, and not helpful. If there is anything that runs like SoulSeek, but with access to more networks.

If I clear my cache and then try to use a an Office 07 application it runs a config setup like its being run for the first time. It can take a few minutes and is VERY annoying. Anyone know anything about this? Office 07 seems very bloated and I'm thinking about going back to 2000 I've been using forever

Regarding the power on/off button on the pc. I assumed it was a mechanical shut off which can interupt the computer at any time you decide to shut it off.
Mine no longer shuts down the pc(even if I do the windows shut down procedure to the end). Let me be clear here, I have a switch on the outside of my pc on the case, some pc's have a switch in the back or on the side which must be turned on to get the computer to power up.
THAT IS THE CONTROL I AM REFERRING TO.How in blazes have I lost the control to shut it down?

The button does works, for I can shut down the pc when it is in the early stages of loading up(the pc maker stuff prior to windows), but once it starts loading Windows, manually being able to switch it off is no longer possible.

In order for me to shut off my pc now, I have to pull the plug.

Anybody ever experience this?

OK i have a certain photoshop call FastStone image viewer. What Im trying to do is.

-well first off The picture has to be black and white.
-And make a certain part of the picture "in color"

-How do I do this?
-what is the tool called?
-If my photoshop doesnt have this tool what photoshop do I need to get for this tool?

I am currently using DVD Shrink 3.2 to backup and shrink a DVD on my hard drive. After that, I use Classic Image Tool and then DVD Decrypter to do the rest, including burning the DVD on a DVD - R. I'm not doing it for illegal purposes, I'm only making backup discs for my own collection as I commonly damage my DVD's often. So I was wondering, is there an all-in-one program out there that's FREE that will do all this work in one program? I'm sick of having to use several programs just to get this job done. Is there something, anything out there that could make this easier?

People are telling me about linux an OS of some kind which is supposed to be so great and free and I'm like what the hec? Can someone tell me exactly what it is and whats so great about it. Personally I wouldn't want or use Linux because I never heard of it until now and it can't be all that good if it's supposed to be free. I would prefer Windows, but I'm curious about it. Just wondering because all my videos turn out to be way too big. How do I get them onto a filesize of less than 10MB? I'm using a software screeen camera that records whatever is on the PC screen.

My computer is doing some really weird stuff. I'm about ready to throw it out the window

*It's running slow....i mean bad slow. I have to stop and wait to see what i've typed

*Pop ups are about to drive me crazy

*It's always wanting to send an error report on every program i run, including internet explorer

*When i try to access my spyware program it shuts down and restarts

*When it starts up it comes to a screen where it says: you're new client name _____

I don't know what's going on with it, but i would really appreciate any help anyone can give me on what to do with it.
