Mac OS X.

All the power, security and software for a Unix box, with the awesome UI of a Mac.

Then there's the fact that it is very well built for Music, video and photography, etc.

Web surfing =. It's unix => secure. It's Mac OS X, so it has the plugins, etc. available that you'd want so, that's sorted.

Music => It's got iTunes and a couple other programs that you can download if you want. For music editing there's GarageBand, and I'm sure there's a pro package out there, too.

Video Editing => iMovie HD for the amateur and Final Cut Pro for the Pro :p

Office it has MS Office if you really want it, but there's iWork too (much nicer, in my opinon), and OpenOffice.org has a port in the pipe.
(BTW, for basic text editing, TextEdit is more than enough)

It always depends on what you want. A Mac would definitely be better for you because you want video editing and iTunes. I'm pretty sure web surfing is the same for both.

OS X is better than most operating systems and Windows is worse than most operating systems. It's no contest. OS X is far superior, and far less trouble.
