Something similar to SoulSeek, which is simple and low on resources. It also lets you see the speed of the host's connection. I tend to look for obscure music, so I want something that connects to a lot of networks. That is all I am looking for.
NOT Limewire, Ares, Morpheus, or any Torrent programs. I see people always answer with Limewire, it is not what I am looking for, and not helpful. If there is anything that runs like SoulSeek, but with access to more networks.

That's the first I heard about Soulseek. Their domain is up for sale.
Torrent is the best technology. In time the other P2P concepts will vanish.

I know nothing about SoulSeek.
My favorite for P2P is BitComet
Another good utility for searching for what is available out there isTorrent Harvester
