What games are you running? Some older games will work under DosBox, but most 98 games should work under XP. Have you tried XP's compatibility mode?

Depends on the programming. Most of the time, you can right click the program executable itself, and go to properties > compatibility and then select the OS the game requires.
If its an MSDOS game, download DOS BOX, and try it that way. If you need help with DOS Box, then I give you a hand.

Good luck to you man.

No You will either have to buy new Upgraded Software for XP and Vista, or check and see if they offer an update to make it work on XP and Vista.
Each Software will be different.

You can run it in compatibility mode. If the game is installed on your computer, right click the program (in Program Files) and go to Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab and click on run in compatibility mode, and pick your OS. If that doesn't work, you can try the bootable DVD at sabayon.org and run it with Wine.

Most games should work.
If not visit the game maker's website and see if they have Windows XP patches for any incompatible games.
