how do i get the keyboard to unlock PERMANITLY at windows xp start-up, so i wont have to hold down the shift button anymore. i dont want to have to re-OS the computer.

i downloaded adobe cs3 indesign and illustrator trail version form adobe website. i cant afford to buy it. but after a few wks it will expire. can i get a working serial number plz so tht it works for both. i would be very greatful.

I'd like to be able to run multiple virtual machines without first having to load a base OS that eats up my machine's resources. Is my best option to just install it on top of a very basic Linux kernel or can I configure it to be it's own OS. Or is there some other product I should be looking at.

I installed win xp pro. everytime I start the computer I have to click the administrator button to get to the desktop. I never created an admin account during install and all I want windows to do is boot straight to the desktop, without having to click any accounts. how do I fix/change this?

Since I got photoshop, when I download a pdf file it opens up into photoshop instead of adobe reader. Is there some default that I need to change. Even when I open the pdf file once it's downloaded, it still opens in photoshop, so I have to open adobe reader first, and then look for the file. Anyone have a solution? thanks

ive tried all sorts of left and right clicks on most icons like file and edit but cant get back to normal viewing.its like switched from landscape to portrait but sideways!got the monitor on its side to use.help.

Hi I have lost cd/dvd drive I have tried all help suggested so far, without success, I have tried all suggestions using device manager, looking for the drive and driver details online all to no avail I have even tried to do a system restore but my computer gives a warning that it cannot restore and no settings have been changed, my computer is running vista I'm stuck!

I'm still learning how to use MS Excel, so when you respond, please don't use a lot of technical terms I will have to look up the meanings to.

Ok. I know how to do this: when I put "1" in cell A1, I need data in cell G1 to appear in cell B1. This is a very simple formula in cell B1: =IF(A1=1,G1) Here is my problem though. In Column G, I have data from G1 to G100. "IF" formulas only allow up to seven "IF"s in a cell. For example:
=IF(A1=1,G1,IF(A1=2,G2,IF(A1=3,G3,IF(A1=4,G4,IF(A1=5,G5,IF(A1=6,G6,IF(A1=7,G7,IF(A1=8,G8))))))))

I need to go all the way to IF(A1=100,G100). The above example is the largest "IF" formula that it will allow me in one cell. How can I make it where if I put "57" in A1 then the data in G57 shows up in B1 or "79" in A1 results in B1 showing G79 data, etc, etc, etc. It would be 100 "IF"s in the formula, but Excel only allows seven. i have purchased about a year ago an authentic, real xp home edition cd- its all shiny and hologram. Anyway i spent like $220 aus dollars on it and apparently i can install it on as many computers as i want all at once- as in they can all run and update at the same time. I heard this when i called up Microsoft today- but i just want to make sure. Can i install it on as many computers i want legally and have them update? (cuz the guy could barley speak english)

Since messing about with msconfig and inadvertantly deleting things, I have now lost cd/dvd drive, I have looked in device manager there shows an exclamation mark next to drive, however righ clicking and updating drivers does not work I get the message computer has most up to date driver, I have tried putting driver details and cd/dvd manufacturer on the net, but to no avail, I have tried restoring my computer to earlier dates but have all failed to solve the problem, Help!

Okay, I recently installed Windows Vista Home Premium. I repaired half of the XP items and I want AOL to work, but every time I click it it says "Restart now" or "Restart later" to complete the installation, but when I do restart it keeps saying it. I tried uninstalling it and then getting it off the AOL site and downloading the correct version...but it doesn't seem to be working. I was wondering what I should do. We are going to have a guy come over and take care of it, but not for a while.

I have AOL 9.0 VR. But it won't work. What am I doing wrong?

This has been happening for years. Often, when I cut and paste text from one document to another the character spacing changes from "normal" to "expanded." I have to manually change it back with the drop-down format tab. Since I never use expanded character spacing, I can't figure out why it's doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm fixing a computer for a friend who doesn't have enough money to buy a new computer well he gave me his computer becasue everytime he stars it it says this

At the command prompt I typed in Scanreg /restore and chose a date and then it tells me that I chose a date without errors and to complete it I need to restart.

I am having some problems recently with my laptop. And I think I need to reinstall the windows. And I dont want to loose my files (music, photos, documents, and stuff...). And I think I will loose it if I reinstall the windows to factory default. So, can anybody help me with this? Is there a way to reinstall and not loose files? Please help....I really need to reinstall windows XP! I dont like it!! Grrr... Thanks for helping.

I am aware that Excel worksheet protection is weak and can be easily bypassed with free software. I've heard that it is possible to add an extra layer of protection by using Macros. I don't know how to use Macros and I am not good at programming (I don't understand VBA). Can anyone give me simple step-by-step instructions on how to protect my worksheet using Macros (or any method other than Excel's built-in worksheet protection)? Thank you. Objective: I want to give my Excel worksheets protection that will be very difficult for anyone to break.
