the download starts but i still can't use the programs. When i try to open them...well media player...it says there is no default application to open the selected document...i also tried to download firefox and that won't work either. I'm on my grandparents' computer and i can't figure out how to get realplayer and media player and i need them for a project...thanks for your help!!!

When I'm working Sonic Update Manager keeps popping up on my screen to accept updates, it's really annoying. I don't need these updates, I clicked cancel button but the next time I log in , it pops-up again.

Can a local Adobe Acrobat Writer "printer" be shared with other computers across a network that do not have Adobe Acrobat Developer (not Adobe Reader) installed, and have it be successfully used on those other machines?

I used to be able to do this prior to Windows 2000, but when we moved to 2000 it would no longer work. I've never tried it on XP.

I’m planning to buy a Desktop unfortunately I’m not a computer expert so I really need some help please.
My question is that if I but a computer either from Circuit City, Best Buy or Fry’s what softwares are already include in the computer? Do I have to buy security software, office productivity software like Microsoft office Home & Student, Digital Media software etc?
I’m asking this because for Dell computers I need to buy all these softwares apparently MS Word is not include.

well the deal is i just installed the microsoft word 2007 and i not used to it.. the first time i used it it was working perfectly fine but then the next day and after that, when i need to use it, like type something it wouldn't allow me and it kept saying "This modification is not allowed because it is locked" and from what i remember the first time i ever used it i never locked anything! can someone help me!!

Okay. When I sign into messenger and log onto chat I get booted at sixteen minutes after every other hour. Messenger signs me out and shuts down and I have to open it again. I feel like it is on some kind of timer set at sixteen minutes after every other hour and it disconnects messenger then. Can anyone tell me why yahoo would do this> Does anyone else experience this? Thanks.

I just downloaded some songs from uTorrent and the files cannot be played for some reason. They all say this (Original Soundtrack [EAC-FLAC]) Does anyone know how to make these play on a media player like Itunes or Windows Media Player?

I know that Symantec Norton has stopped support for Windows 95, 98, and 2000 as far as I know. When will they stop support for Windows XP? I want to stay with Windows XP as long as possible and I use Norton as my Internet Security and Antivirus that's why I ask this question. O Vista really stinks if you think about it. Some businesses will be forced to go out of business not being able to afford computers powerful enough to handle Vista let alone Vista itself. Also there's so many bugs in Vista I've heard. And to beat it all Vista practically forces you to buy a new computer just to be able to run the stupid OS Vista. I really dispise Microsoft for this.

I recently had to take my PC to the Geek Squad because it had like 7 virus'! I used to be able to just save all images as JPG format...I'd right click on the picture, click "refresh page (full quality)" and then save pic as JPG.
but now after having my pc serviced (they had to erase EVERYTHING and reinstall windows for me) I can only save pics as BNP or ART. I don't even have the "refresh page(full quality) option anymore >(
How can I start saving pictures as JPF?!?!?!?!?!?
