I know that Symantec Norton has stopped support for Windows 95, 98, and 2000 as far as I know. When will they stop support for Windows XP? I want to stay with Windows XP as long as possible and I use Norton as my Internet Security and Antivirus that's why I ask this question. O Vista really stinks if you think about it. Some businesses will be forced to go out of business not being able to afford computers powerful enough to handle Vista let alone Vista itself. Also there's so many bugs in Vista I've heard. And to beat it all Vista practically forces you to buy a new computer just to be able to run the stupid OS Vista. I really dispise Microsoft for this.

Is there not one person that will answer my question instead of critizing what I say? I have AVG on one computer cause I can't afford Norton for it, but what makes you think they won't stop support for XP either?!!! My main computer is the one I'm concerned about it has Norton while the other has AVG cause I could only afford one Norton at the time I had money.

Microsoft no longer supports Win 95/98/ME/2000. As a result neither does Symantec. Eventually XP will be discontinued but you'll be using Vista by then anways. Don't worry about it.

No Deveolpers are still supporting Windows XP in all their products, the only thing they are doing is promoting Windows Vista.

All software development will stop in 2011, which is long time.
Microsoft is actually gaining more money from XP than Vista.

Their are other options

one upgrade to Vista
Transition to Linux
Transition to UNIX
Transition Mac OS X.
OR go to React OS which is a Windows NT clone.

For as far as we know , Microsoft's Idea of promoting Windows Vista is not working.
Most Business PC are Windows XP.

My Uncles Company uses Windows NT 3.1 (Many years older than 95!!!!)

Why Norton? It's a huge resource hogger, it's not exactly the best on detection. What you are describing about Vista is the same thing people said about XP. XP was just as bad as Vista until XP got up to SP2. Now, with Vista coming out with SP1, there are HUGE improvements to it, even with the beta version of SP1 so it will get better by the time it goes public. You also don't need to buy a new computer to run Vista, unless you have a really crappy PC, which is your fault for not buying a computer to be future ready.

So when will Norton stop? I'm guessing around 2009, when Microsoft will stop supporting XP.

Dear Friend
you should know that symantec is not responsible for the windows support there S/W is separate and you should check the Ver. of Norton ver. that they did stop support
and any way Microsoft dead time for any software that they provide is average but mostly no longer than 10 years max.
