Okay. When I sign into messenger and log onto chat I get booted at sixteen minutes after every other hour. Messenger signs me out and shuts down and I have to open it again. I feel like it is on some kind of timer set at sixteen minutes after every other hour and it disconnects messenger then. Can anyone tell me why yahoo would do this> Does anyone else experience this? Thanks.

It's not dial up, it's DSL and it does it to other people too. They don't know why either. It's just messenger that does it, not yazak or yahelite.

maybe someone pulled a prank on you and set a scheduled task on your computer to turn messenger off 16 minutes after each hour?

It's not Yahoo!, it's probably some stupid person holding a grudge against you. There are a lotta tools out there that do this for you. You can always create a new yahoo profile (not ID) and delete the one you are using.
