There are loads of different methods for testing software e.g, glass box is where the tester will check the code where as black box testing is where the tester will check for input validation. The best way to learn is learn to program in a few computer langauges such as C++, Java, etc.

Theres also a book called Sommeville Software Engineering 8th Edition. Theres a detailed testing processes and also design processes aswell which will help.
