When I'm working Sonic Update Manager keeps popping up on my screen to accept updates, it's really annoying. I don't need these updates, I clicked cancel button but the next time I log in , it pops-up again.

In START -> RUN, type: MSCONFIG

In Startup tab you can see lists of programs starts when your computer first start. Check which one there is really using the 'sonic update manager'. Then uncheck it so it won't start updating.

You can also check in 'Services' tab if the file is currently running.

Note that you have to stop ONLY the 'update' application.

Under options you can stop automatic updates - be aware though these updates do fix bugs and weaknesses the original program had and your program may not be compatible with the others of the same type without them. The second option is to install updates on a schedule (like 3am when you aren't actively using the system). Good Luck!
