ok, i removed a program from my control panel. now i cant hear audio. i believe the program was called VSP OR VIA i dont know but any knowledge would seriously help if it'd help me. thanks a bunch.

Go to Microsoft they have a viewer that allows one to view only, PowerPoint presentations. I never hear about powerpoint viewer ? can you Demo or how to step and step can any download ? powerpoint viewer

I heard that when using Windows Vista, Microsoft can see literally EVERYTHING that you are doing? If they see anything illegal like pirating music or movies, they can prosecute you, is this true?

I used UTorrent to download 2 episodes of 24, when i play them all i hear is sound and the picture is the windows media effects as if i were playing a song?

It is called a Xvid-XOR so i'm guessing that I need a patch or something to help view the picture.

It says "XVID CODEC required to play this file"

If I put this file straight onto a DVD without downloading this XVID codec thing, would the picture show?

Oh yeah and i have roxio CD burner but there doesn't seem to be an option to burn a DVD? x

I can't modify any of my documents start new ones etc, i don't want to buy the programs just yet. how can i go back to my MS office programs or does someone have a key or some code i can use to fix it?

It's either the upgrade package or the retail package for twice the cash. I would like to install a clean install on my hard drive though, so should I buy the retail one then or would it still let me under the upgrade?

bearshare was the only one that i ever liked, but im not allowed to download it, because my dad thinks we got the trojan virus from it. :[

I have windows XP on all but one of my computers, and I have Vista on one of my laptops. I've played around on Vista, and it feels like being placed in a shiny rubber room, with pretty lights that don't do any specific function. The only feature I like about it is being able to see what’s going on when I hover my mouse over a minimized window.
Other then that it’s only purpose seems to mesmerize people with its child like ornament’s it seems like vista is trying to limit me in what I can do on my computer, plus all it’s pretty decorations take up lots of memory. It’s kinda like Microsoft said: “Hey this core two duo processor is WAYY!@! TOO FAST#!! Lets SLOW TH*NGS DOWN with VISTA!” Ahhh… that’s more like it, says Bill Gates. It feels like I’m on an Icky mac.
So would you please explain what makes vista so good? Or feel free to elaborate further on why it sucks. I mean what can you do on vista that you can’t apply to XP using some kind of appearance mod.

For some reason my computer deleted the words from one of my notepad files. It didn't ask to save so I went back in and the file was still there but the words weren't. Please help! To rewrite that it would take hours.

I am trying to reinstall an XP operating system in an old computer, but the cd will not boot up at all. A message states that the hardware set-up is being configured, but the screen then goes blank and nothing further happens. I don't have any recovery discs, and the original os came pre-installed. The cd which I am trying to load is a genuine XP operating system, but I would be grateful for any advice. Many thanks, Graeme Murray.

I recently bought a computer with Windows Vista pre-installed, I had to reinstall Vista (using the copy that come with my PC) twice due to error messages.

The problem is it keeps rejecting my product key, the product key that's suck to my base unit, should I buy Windows Vista OEM - will this come with a new product key, or do I have to buy a new retail box of Windows Vista.

When im converting music files to any format, my pc makes strange noises...it's fan is making rotations more than the usual..same happens when i'm playing any heavy graphics like cs or wow, i'm forced to close the application because if i don't my pc will restart itself. If any one has an idea about this problem please report!
