If you've only just installed windows but you've installed it on both drives by accident. Make sure you've got all your important data backed up before continuing.

If you only want windows on C: then boot up as normal, making sure you boot the windows installation on the real C drive (even the windows installation on D: might think it's installed on the C: so it could be a bit tricky). Once you have booted the correct windows installation merely format your D drive. If you don't know how to verify which windows installation is booting use the following method:

Open the run dialog and type "msconfig" without the quotes and press enter. Click on the boot.ini tab and you will see a couple of lines both talking about windows xp.

Check to see which one is the default and it "should" be the one labeled "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0) partition(0)\WINDOWS"
If this is not the case then further inspection may be required.

If and when you finally manage to boot the correct windows installation you merely need format the D: by right clicking it in my computer and selecting "Format"

Once your D drive has been formatted you will want to remove the boot entry relating to it for cleanliness. To do this open the run dialog and type "msconfig" without the quotes and press enter.

Click the boot.ini tab again and then click the "Check all boot paths" button and it should remove the now irrelevant entry.
