Most likely the trojen came from an E-mail attachment, if you do not know the person sending the e-mail delete it. Myself se frostwire and have had no problems for over 2 years. can be found at frostwire.com. Another hint when downloading do not always go to the biggest or most contributers, and stay away from ones that say track 1 etc.

I am sorry that you are unable to use your favorite program. The program that you downloaded may or may not have caused the trojan virus. Any internet surfing can and does bring about an onslought of internet attacks. Even if you were to find an alternative program this would not prevent the viruses and spyware from affecting your system. I recommend that you install a good spyware elimination program. Most will allow you to scan your computer as often as needed for trojans and other spyware. And eliminate them as soon as they are spotted. I recommend "SuperAntispyware". You can download the free trial version at SuperAntispyware.com. Or "Spy sweeper", available at www.webroot.com. Having these highly effective trojan elimination programs installed will ensure that you will be able to quickly eliminate any trojans. Once you have shown your dad how quickly and easily these programs can eliminate any trojans and explain that picking them up is inevitable when surfing the internet, and this kind of regular scanning should be done as a part of normal system preventative maintenance, he may agree to let you continue using your bearshare software.

Best of Luck

Tell your dad if you download Bearshare and click on no sharing then there is no way you can get a virus which is true becaue no file hosts can get in your system.
