am now collecting a lot of paint shop pro picture tubes that others are giving away and I don't want to take up much storage on my hard drive so I am thinking of just loading it on my CDs. Is this possible to do and then when I want to use them, I can transfer to my paint shop pro software and then put it back on the disc.

I've used Dreamweaver 8 in the past to edit my website, but now that I'm using a trial of CS3, I can't connect to my ftp. All of my settings imported from version 8 and I can connect to the site using other software. The exact error I get says "An FTP error occured - cannot make connection to host." I have tried all the recomended solutions regarding firewalls (my computers don't have one) and my router (also has no firewall), but no luck. Any suggestions?

I recently re-installed my operating system. I am running Windows XP Professional. I had to re-install coz I got BSOD, probably due to corrupt files. Everything went smooth, but for playing videos. I can no longer play videos on my computer. Whenever I try to, the comp freezes up. When I check the task manager, it shows 98 to 99 of CPU usage by the program that I'm using to open the video. This happens with any player. I downloaded different codecs thinking that its a codec problem. I've installed K-Lite too, but no go. Could anyone help me out with this? Thanks in advance!

Curious.
I got W98...not the second edition...W98!!
And it is slowly dying before my very eyes.

Slow shutdown.
w98 startup has always seemed a little slow
illegal operation messages.
fatal exceptions....even while running a McAfee scan in safe mode.
starting to get on my nerves.

MOZILLA browser seems balkier.

I think W98 is done.
slowly going KAPOOT.

ANYBODY ELSE with W98 experiencing same?

Time for new OS.
Or go to RE-PC here in Seattle...

A bit ago I had a nasty virus on my computer. I got rid of it and had to uninstall and reinstall windows but it installed service pack 1 I've tried several times to upgrade it to service pack 2 but when the installation finishes it restarts and just keeps restarting. I don't know what to do to fix it. If any of you could offer any advice or help I'd be very thankful.

(I'm sorry if this isn't the right category for this, this is my first time asking a question here.)

i'm trying to delete these 2 temporary preview files from the "incomplete" folder of limewire, because i dont want it and it just takes up space. whenever i try to delete it, it will not and has a message like ' cannot delete close other application using it', but there is no application using it. its a video file, windows isnt using it or limewire since i deleted it.
how do i delete it!!!

I recently got a computer from a friend but it needs to be restored. The problem is he has none of the discs that came with it. It's a Dell with XP Home edition loaded in it. I was gonna buy a friends Windows XP Pro edition disc for really cheap but i was wondering if i would be able to restore it's system files with a XP pro disc?

Recently, I found my PC to have a lot of spyware and worms, etc. So, instead of using the anti viral software to clean up the PC, I decided to reformat it with my XP.

However, less than a day later, I found the same problem affecting my PC again. This was before I could install any fire wall or anti viral programmes. When I check with my anti viral software, I found my PC contain the same spyware, worms, virus, etc.

All these problems only happen recently. I never had such a problem with these virus before.

So, the question is, can the CDs I used to format my PC, be infected with virus at some point when I used them? How can it be possible for my PC be reinfected so soon and by the same virus? Likewise, how can it be possible the CDs such as my Windows XP come with virus? I mean, these viruses come in only recently.
