It is not the best way to do it, but it works. Hold down on the power button until the machine shuts down. Let is set for about 10 seconds so the read/write arms in the hard drive have had a chance to move to the park position. Power it up after that and see if it will shut down normally using the start/shutdown method.

this could sound incorrect to between the mandatory different Y/A persons yet you could attempt to start contemporary. eliminate the capability twine out of your workstation and carry the capability button for 15 seconds. Now unlock and plug the vigor twine back in. Now plug it in and the computing device. verify your cd rom and see if it works if no longer there could be a small hollow which you would be waiting to place a pin wherein can manually eject. something might have very possibly shorted out. Sorry although the question is merely too vague.

Couple things I would try:

- press and hold in the power button for 6-7 seconds. It will turn off.
- I would check it out in Safe Mode. If you are not familiar with Safe Mode --
To start Windows in safe mode
1. You may want to print this for reference. Windows Help is not available while you start your computer or run your programs on the MS-DOS operating system.
2. Click Start, and then click Shut down.
3. Click Restart, click OK, and then press and hold the CTRL key until the Microsoft Windows Startup Menu appears.
For some machines, you can use F8 instead of CTRL to bring up the Microsoft Windows Startup Menu.
4. Enter the number for Safe mode, and then press ENTER.
Now, click Start
Settings
Control Panel
Power Options or Power Management.
Check the settings there.
Then,
Click Start, Programs, and click on your antivirus program or to run it.
- When finished, exit back to Windows.
- Your icons may be out of order. Just drag them back into place.
------If your problem is not resolved, I suggest a Windows Repair. Here is information on that:

HOLD the start on button for a little while and it will turn off manually but (This mostly never happens like 5% chance) it can also cause your compute not to turn on but don't panic! just unplug all your cables in the back of your computer and wait like 30 sec and plug it back in and it should work fine
