okay, for the last two weeks or so, i had the mixer device problem. the mixer device problem is when you click on the volume control on your computer, you get a pop up thats like "blah blah blah there is no active sound mixer device, w/e, to get one go to add hardware in the control panel," yeah.
but it seems that i solved that (i went to this yahoo answer, and it told me to go to driverguide.com and register and search for Realtek AC97 Audio, so if you even have this problem try that lol) for now, and now i have a new problem:

there is no sound coming from my speakers and headphones whatsoever! does anyone know what i can do?

i think what could have caused this was when i was removing programs to make room for this new pc game i got i was deleting security updates because there were tons of them, or it could be the game itself. idk. help?????

How do I uninstall XP from a harddrive?

I had to replace my main hardrive today and fitted a new one but as I installed my recovery discI accidently installed xp on what was my back up harddrive. I didn't really think anything of it and then went and installed XP on my new hardrive. Now I can't make them recognise each other. I have a lot of software, music, photos on the other harddrive that I want to use. Can anyone help me remove XP from my old back up hardrive?

hi my cpu is one of those double things where it has 2 operating systems and side 1 is windows XP and side 2 is windows 2000 i can acess windows 2000 fine but XP suddenly gives me a blue screen after a power outage and i suspect it had somthing to do with the registry because it was never good anyway i tried to boot from the disk to fix it but it wont do that for some reason can anyone help me? i want to play WoW again!!!! oh and if you need to know wat cpu it is its a dell dimension L733r

some of the game si play and the programs i use wont run on vista. should i install windows when i get it? if so will the cd the windows xp sp2 cd that came with my older comp work for my new 1?

Hello, this question is for the musicians and sound men out there. Please tell me what in the hec it is that a BBE sonic maximizer actually does. I have been a musician for many years and I have always seen them in any rack sound system that is worth anything. I also am very aware that when I sing through a PA system that has a BBE sonic maximizer in the system, my voice seems to sound much better. I really like what they do, whatever it is. Can anyone out there tell me exactly what it is that a BBE sonic maximizer does without getting too technical so I'll undertand. I am not a sound man but I have basic knowledge of PA equip. Just enough to know that you want one of these as a part of any vocal PA system. What do they do exactly? Or, how is it that they make your vocals sound better? Why doesnt the box or the unit say what it does. I have sang through many many of them and it is high time I learned what they do.

Hi..this is my problem:

My computer is a 2004 Dell Dimension 4600 that came with Windows XP pre-installed. Now, I borrowed my cousin's XP Home installation CD because I want to format and reinstall XP. The problem is that the sticker that's on my computer says a completely different product key than the one I get when I use Everest or other programs to find out what your keys are.

Why could this be happening, and which one should I really use when finally reinstalling?

the mac was giving to me and all the programs i have found is to expensive cause i dont want to spend a arm and leg for the program and find out the computer ain worth a damn.

i had a look at vista basic ..no way xp home edition was far better and ..they was doing things in widows vista ...far different to all other windows ....SO is better to get VISTA pro or stick to XP pro .?

Can someone tell me the name of a product very similar to openCanvas thats free to use (no crappy 30 day trials)? Also, if someone knows where I can get openCanvas 1 (I heard its free) then that would be great too.
