some of the game si play and the programs i use wont run on vista. should i install windows when i get it? if so will the cd the windows xp sp2 cd that came with my older comp work for my new 1?

Vista is very tricky and you cant install files from XP I am not shure put probaly you cant even buy XP anymore

Yes you can install Windows XP SP2 using that CD that came with your old computer. Installing two operating systems on one computer is called dual booting. Here is an explaination of how to dual boot using XP and Vista. http://muckyfeet.com/2006-dual-xp-vista-install/

Yes, install XP and as long as you have the code for it, it will install on your new machine. Vista eats up 20GB for the program alone. On XP I recall that you can get XP to treat certain programs or games like it's running 98.

Vista should be downward mobile. Most software companies began preparing fixes to make their programs compatible with Vista sometime ago.

Suggest you go to the manufacturers of the games to see if they have prepared a fix to make it run in Vista.
