I recently re-installed my operating system. I am running Windows XP Professional. I had to re-install coz I got BSOD, probably due to corrupt files. Everything went smooth, but for playing videos. I can no longer play videos on my computer. Whenever I try to, the comp freezes up. When I check the task manager, it shows 98 to 99 of CPU usage by the program that I'm using to open the video. This happens with any player. I downloaded different codecs thinking that its a codec problem. I've installed K-Lite too, but no go. Could anyone help me out with this? Thanks in advance!

Hey dude, thanks for the reply.. However, I do know that my computer chokes coz the processor is all taken up by the application that tries to open the video.. So, if I end the process it works fine.. I guess I had to rephrase my question.. How do I play videos without freezing my computer up?? Someone please answer if you know this..

Well.. The RAM doesn't seem to be an issue as I have 512 MB DDR RAM and 256 MB for the graphics card.. However I think I figured it out this evening.. I booted it up to the safe mode and found that it was working fine.. I then realized that it should be my NVidia GeForce 6200 graphics card drivers.. I updated it to the latest, but no go.. I also figured out that, incidentally I happened to keep my web cam plugged in during the installation, which might have caused this.. The solution as off now I guess is a re-installation.. Anything else, anyone can think of??
