Software - February 2007

Apparently a portion of Visio was purchased and developed by MS Corp. (the portion used for diagraming). I was hoping to upgrade my Visio Technical 5.0 but cannot even find the Visio Corporation now. I know that they were working on a program comparable to the best in the CAD market. I have found references to Visio Technical 2000 at Amazon.com, but they don't stock it.

And of course MS Corp will not respond except to sell me their version of the diagramming thing.

If you can help, I would appreciate it.

opening constantly to tell me that it has disabled a driver (sonic Solutions) how do i stop this opening. i can't get rid of the software driver as it won't let me but never use it anyway. i just want the anoying pop up thing to go away!

I just bought a new computer with Vista installed on it. Damn what a headache it was. First of a since vista isnt compatible with anything i needed to download 10 thousands drivers to get the comp to work normally. It asks you permission to do everything...even several times throughout a store bought software. Not to mention it crashed on me THE FIRST FRIGGIN DAY.
Do I just have bad luck or does vista really suck that bad

When you delete information from an Outlook Personal Folder File (.pst) the file size does not decrease until you open the properties of that Personal Folder in Outlook, click Advanced and then click Compact Now. I would like to do this for multiple .pst files in multiple locations without having to open them in My Outlook. Is there a Microsoft Utility that can do this, and more specifically is there one that can be accessed by the command line so that I can script this process out.

Alright - this is driving me nuts and I have gotten it to work in other applications with other configurations.

The formula below is not producing the desired results. All that is displaying is either "Send 3rd" or "Current"

=IF(E562<($Q$2+10), "Send 3rd",IF(E562<($Q$2-4),"Send 2nd",IF(E562<($Q$2-13),"Send 1st",IF(E562> ($Q$2+10),"Current","Check"))))

Cell E562 in this case is a date of a tasks last completion
Cell $Q$2 contains the funciton =TODAY()

Essentially I'm trying to evaluate the date of the tasks last completion against today's date. Based on that evaluation it should display one of the following options "Send 3rd", "Send 2nd", "Send 1st", or "Current". I'm only getting "Send 3rd" or "Current".

I'm hoping a second set of eyes on this will help. Thanks for all your help.

I was thinking of getting the Home Premium but some people tell me to get the ultimate!! I would apprecitate it if someone who has either one could tell me a little bit 'bout them. I noticed my computer was beginning to load, and perform slower, so I went to the add or remove programs thru my Control Panel. I scanned the list and came across one that had used over 200,000 mb's, and thought to myself " Wow! whatever that is, it sure is taking up alot of space on my hard drive! ( DUH!!??), What it was, but didn't imply was the virtual Java system!! I also uninstalled the program called somethin' like "Sun Microsystems". It was 112,000+ mbs....that wiped out the memory, because when I sign on to my pogo game a message appears that says that a reference memory # could not be read!! I've tried "Restoring my Computer to an earlier date", but that isnt working either. Has anyone out there ever done a remote assistance where I have you make the necessary changes to fix this? I really need someones help! My computer is less than 2 months old, and was a Christmas present, and although I'm not completely computer illiterate

on u torrent my download speed is allways so low it has peaked upto 700kbs but seems to hang around 50kbs-80kbs any idea how to keep it high???

allso i play battlefield 2 online and somtimes the ping is as high as 2000 and i constantly get kicked is their anything i can do to fix this?? many thanks james

I like to sometimes save pix to my desktop in Vista so they're easy to find. I can see the thumbnails ok, but for some reason I can't open or preview them. Anyone know how to fix this?

I am in the IT department of our company and we are currently running Windows XP Professional. I believe they are talking about upgrading to Windows Vista, but neither I nor anyone else here has any experience with it. Is there a way we can get a free copy of Vista just to play around with and learn it, *legally*?

I have downloaded two players so far and neither one works. Also, I did the upgrade of Macromedia Shockwave Flash and it reported back with a successful installation. Any recommendations / suggestions would be appreciated. Have a great day ya'll!
