I got a new new computer with Vista and Office and I hate works...I can save stuff as word but how do I use word as my default word processor.

if you have Microsoft word installed right click on a word document click open with then choose program scroll down the list until you see Microsoft word click on it to highlight it put a tick in the box which says always use the selected program to open this kind of file click Ok now Word should be your default word processor for Word documents

2 ways:
1.) in any folder click tools/folder options/file types.

then find .doc or any other extension you wand like .txt, etc and change the default prog to MS Word.

2.) right click on the file and choose properties, then change, then MS Word shoud be in the reccommended category. choose and select the box that says always use...

Always creat a new Word document when trying to create a word processing document.

If you have word installed, it would default to the main .doc processor.
