Software - February 2007

I got windows xp home. I got two wallpapers that dont work quite right. In the background list I have to back up over them to see them. I figured they were bad and went looking for new ones. I found them! But. They look exactly the same! Was XP shiped with bad wallpaper? Is moonflower and peace supposed to look like that? Moonflower looks like a flower, but the top half looks all messed up. Peace, I can't make out at all. What is it? It looks like a double exposure of something or other. All hazey and out of focus. You think maybe these pictures are preventing me from starting SAFE MODE? Could other system files be bad?

i cannot play cd's on my cd drive on the computer. A pop up message comes up saying " windows media player cannot find the file if you are trying to play, burn or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed or deleted " it plays cd's in realplayer though ? My operating system is windows xp

not necessarliy those numbers but you get the idea, when i close out explorer.exe, the cpu power jumps to system idle process.
Have run hijackthis, latest anitvirus programs, latest spyware programs, chkdsk on startup and have even deleted explorer.exe in safemode and put back on another explorer.exe from my dads computer, still does the same thing. Any suggestions?

i installed windows vista on my system and then i decided to uninstall it and install XP but whenever i try to install XP my drives only shows format to NTFS option not on FAT32 option.
i tried a lot but all in vain.Please do help me that what should i do so that my ntfs partitions should be converted into FAT32 that was made during Windows Vista.plz tell me how to convert my drive to Fat32?

We have a company of about 25 people and our exchange server is taking about 14-15 hours to back up on to an external hard drive every night. I believe we're using the backup software that came with the Seagate External hard drives that we backup to. I see a lot of ads online, but I don't know which ones to trust. Any suggestions?

Well I installed it finding out that it doesn't do real-time protection like I thought it did. Then I figured that was because I was downloading it from download.com so I went to Lavasoft's website to download it from there then it led it back to download.com. I got spybot search and destroy now but am finding Ad-aware Personal SE to be better. While spybot found maybe 20 items, Adware Personal SE found at least 100 or more! Does anyone know where I can get Ad-aware PErsonal SE as freeware or something close to that? I'm hoping to find the best anti-spyware around that can find hundreds of items and do real-time protection.

I just had my ibook g3 get kind of screwy, I restarted it and it when it came back on it was a blue screen with the mouse cursor and now I am told that I have to reload the os10 operating system. I just wanted to know how to do this without losing all of my files that were on the system.
