I have my windows xp disc from my old HP, can I take this disc and install the windows xp on the new computer with out any problem?

Perhaps. Let me explain.

Most restore CD's will check the BIOS to verifty that you can re-install the operating system.

Since both computers are HP, you have a chance.

Most hardware that is certified for Vista will have XP drivers (at least this early in teh release of Vista)

Not a concrete answer, but hope it helps.

As long as it is an OEM disc. Give it a shot, if it works it works.

Just as long as you still have a key for windows XP.

You probably won't be able to find all the drivers and you would lose your support.
