Windows Vista Ultimate as the name suggests,it contains ultimate features.I also suggest you to get that, but before you do that wait until microsoft releases some service pack, cuz my friend installed Vista home basic edition and he found that internet is working very slowly. Also make sure atleast you have 1GB of RAM,but 2GB would be much better to run Vista.Good luck.In the link given below you can find comparison between the editions.

Hah! I don't know what those people are talking about Vista being all buggy and stuff. Works quite well for me! All you need is the latest drivers, and if necessary, tweak some files, and such.
You should get Home Premium, good enough. Ultimate just has some useless features for me, like remote access or whatever.

It depends on your requirements and of course on your budget.
If you are ready to pay a lot, just go for ultimate. It's,as the name suggests, ultimate. It has all the features of home premium plus certain enhanced features, better security etc.
If your requirements are limited and you are low on budget,go for home premium.
And yah,you need not wait for something like vista 2.0 or so because you won't be knowing when it will be available, and also when it will be released, you'll always be able to upgrade to that anytime just as winXP SP2.

Use home premium- its good enough. Also go with the full version rather than the upgrade, the full I believe would be more stable. Believe me I bought the upgrde a month go and it has crashed quite a few times.

the place do you get $2 hundred from? the version between abode elementary and abode suited at OEM fee point is not any extra desirable than $80. If all of us's charging you $2 hundred to "improve" whilst ordering a sparkling computing device, bypass someplace else. i offered a computing device with abode suited already on it, "off the shelf". it fairly is super except you're able to get it to hook up with a internet site (in case you're making use of it in an place of work or connecting remotely to an place of work).

Ultimate is very expensive what's different from home premium?
You can't use home premium as a guest os if you use virtual software like vmware MS eula disallows that......... oh and you don't have bit locker drive encryption and easier buisness networking.
