No problem at all. Go to http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/ download the updates that you need for your Windows XP and then install them. Save the downloads in a flash drive just in case you need them again.

Although you probably can't get updates via the Windows Update website, you may still be able to through the Automatic Updates service on your computer.
Click on Start => Settings => Control Panel => Automatic Updates, and choose the selection which has updates download automatically. Eventually you should hopefully see the yellow shield-shaped icon in the systray. Click twice on that when it appears and you may be able to have it install downloaded updates.
Also you might instead just download service pack 2 and install it, it doesn't "phone home" to validate your Windows install. When service pack 3 is released sometime later this year you may want to do something similar.
Hotfixes don't always need to be installed right away, certain fixes may only apply to a specific type of network setup or vulnerability which may not apply to you. You may be OK just waiting for and downloading the next service pack which will include all updates since service pack 2.

Be careful because Steve Ballmer aka. Elmer FUD is blaming the abysmal Vista sales on people using non-authentic copies of XP and he states that Microsoft is going to start going after those people.
XP will snitch on you if you have SP2 or or higher installed by sending information like your MAC address and IP and Internet service provider back to Microsoft.
So just be aware of that.
I suggest that you confront your Windows addiction and move past it.
Try Linspire or Xandros Linux.
Ubuntu and Kubuntu is also very good and they are free.

Why use illegal software when there are so many free, reliable and up to date operating systems available, plus thousands of free programs.
Try UBUNTU or XUBUNTU.
