Be sure that your product key is accurate. Type each number slowly and one at a time. If the numbers are too small to read, you might get a magnifying glass and hold above the product key. Then you could write them down and type them from what you wrote. If there is even one number or letter wrong Windows will keep saying invalid no matter what you download. If you cannot read the product key, try and find someone who can help you to read it. Then write it down and put it in a safe place so that you will always have it.

I am assuming that you copied the product key from the COA sticker on the computer. They are very small and sometimes hard to read. Check it again to make sure you got all of the digits right. Then make sure that you have the Number Lock on on your keyboard. The number lock is normally off in a clean system reboot and you have to either turn it on manually, or turn it on during setup. I believe the caps lock is necessary, too.

When I was trying to reinstall my Windows OS on my old computer after a crash, I kept entering an "O" in place of a "Q". (The little tag on the Q is microscopic and I didn't see it until I got a flashlight and magnifying glass!)

1. Check if it is the right Key for your Product - I have mistaken my old Office Key for the Windows CD Key already
2. Zeros are not Ohs - pay Attention!
3. Let someone dictate you the Key, maybe you just mistyped it and can't find the Error.
4. Call Windows Customer Support. It's what they are paid for ;)

I suggest that you confront your Windows addiction and move past it.
Try Linspire or Xandros Linux.
If you feel a little more computer savy then try Ubuntu or Kubuntu Linux.

It's an illegal copy. Even if you could install it you would not be able to get updates.

Get a legal operating instead. Try UBUNTU or XUBUNTU, they are free, reliable and up to date. Once you have one of these operating systems installed, you gain access to thousands of free programs created by the open source community.

How many times have you used this product key?

Often it means the serial number on the back of your PC. If so then proceed to key in the set of digits
