I saw an ad on the Internet for a program that claims to wipe and erase all files by overwriting them. I have several computers and want to donate them but even though I have reformatted the hard drives, I know that my personal information could still be recovered. If I run a wipe and erase, what are the chances of someone being able to recover any of the information?

When I try to delete the files, an error msg comes up saying another program or person is using the file and I need to close it first but I can't figure out which program is using the file to close it. Any suggestions ?

I don't get it - the sound works but no video plays! and windows media player works for everything else - music films etc. Is there any way I can get the video to work too? and there's nothing wrong with the downloaded files as I know friends who have downloaded the same files and they can play them on theirs. Any help appreciated!

I have three data sets in excel format:

1- Column 1 = set of dates from 1-Jan-1980 to 31-Dec-2006.

2-Column 2 = set of non-continuous dates, e.g. 3-Jan-1980, 6-Feb-1980, 23-Apr-1981, etc. these dates are a subset of column (1) set.

3-Column 3 = set of variables each corresponding to a value in Column (2) set of dates.

What i want to do is to arrange column (3) with respect to Column (1) set. In other words, to expand column (2) and (3) to match column (1).

What software can do this? (to match the contents of columns in one step).
