I havent personally used Vista...but historically speaking...Windows doesn't have the best launch success ever...i mean look at ME or 2000, it had like 4 different Service Packs before they got it right, XP has two or three...i don't know if i could trust it just yet

The "Advanced Security" features you speak of can be had for WinXP. They are Windows Defender and Windows Firewall., big whoop! I too do not yet have Vista, but I have seen and used it recently. It is "pretty". But, I saw nothing new and exciting in, or on the desktop, no animation of the background or in the icons. I would think that there would be some type of animation. Did have any "WOW" factor that I could see. I'll wait for them to work out some of the bugs and do the eventual service updates before I get it.

If you believe that I have some prime property along the Delaware River I'll sell you cheap. Just make sure you come at low tide. VISTA has been hacked already and there are at least two places you can get copies that defy all "Bill's" security efforts
