If I am suppose to burn a dvdr at the slowest speed possiable, do I first need to format the disc in some way? If so, how do I go about doing this?

My computer is starting up really slow. I cleared up all the cookies, etc with adaware. I ran antivirus. I ran windows' "disk cleanup". I ran windows' "disk defragment". I unchecked almost every item in msconfig's windows startup, but I think there is some startup items that I don't know what they are and have not unchecked them.

What are the only startup items needed, just the minimum, for windows to run properly?

Windows Vista has already released and I'm very excited about that. But before buying Windows Vista, I would like to ask a question. Does Windows Vista automatically remove, delete or uninstall pirated softwares and illegally-downloaded mp3s? In some newspaper articles, it is stated that Windows Vista removes any detected pirated softwares or mp3s without a user's acknowledgement. I've searched through the internet, but it seems that there is no news that Windows Vista removes pirated softwares and mp3s. I'm very confused now and would like to seek for the truth. Please help me...

yes, i know about copyrights. but if i purchase a dvd and i want to burn it so that i have a backup of it, how do i override the sonic dla dvd burner settings so that the copy protect is bypassed?

is there another program out there, particularly, free, that would help me perform this task?

Since I updated to the newer versions of firefox (currently I run version 2.0.0.1) I have had this god awful problem with the software, (RUNNING ON A WINDOW XP BOX) running on a user account whenever I download something from firefox it will freeze for at least 5-10 minutes, I have seriously walked away to take a shower, make coffee and come back and it still be frozen, eventually it will come out of the freeze and start downloading the file at 0% and continue to 100% fine but the freeze effects my entire system I cant open windows or run programs.

The weird thing I have a laptop running windows xp that USED to do the same thing execpt when I took it to my friends house, went under admin mode to change my network settings to allow DHCP (I'm under a static IP addressing since I use port forwarding), heres the thing I took the thing off DHCP and went back the the same settings, not doing ANY updates or ANYTHING else, and firefox no longer freezes when on my laptop.

When I go into the control panel and click on display then on desktop the option to change the background to an image isnt even something that I can click on. I can change the color and thats it. And when I right click on a photo it wont set as background either. Any suggestions to making this work???

If i have a column of say 10 random quantities in 10 random sequential cells. How do i vertically reverse the cells. I.e. if i've entered the data upside down and my top cell should be at the bottom and vise-versa.

I've had a Volume Icon on my Taskbar since I had this computer in the Start/Taskbar Properties section, but now it's on mute & I don't know how to get it back on the Taskbar to worl properly again.I;ve tried all the solutions e.mailed to me & tried the answers I read on this site to no avail.
The only thing I havn't tried yet is to put my Windows Disk in & re-install the volume again.
Any ideas from you guys would be much appreciated.

I have redownloaded limewire a few time now because after a while whe i try to open it a box pops up that says that it has been corrupted and i should reinstall it again. Why is it doing this. I have lost ALL my music everytime i have to reinstall. Whats going on?

I have a SanDisk Sansa m230 player and the software that comes with it auto installed Windows Media Player 10. I Have ripped some songs onto WMP and when I try to sync them to the MP3 player, WMP says it does not detect a device. My computer recognizes it and says it is installed and ready to go...I don't get it...what am I doing wrong?

Do u download them? or what website? cuz u see i like music from Fab. and i want to put 2 of his songs on my computer;s media player then i can burn it from there.
