I'm not having trouble burning the dvds at all. I just can't get the dvd player to read them. What to do?

Ditto on the above post. Formatting is not necessary, and I have no idea what you mean about using the slowest speed.

I'm assuming you have an older PC's or the burn process is failing. If that's the case, ask another question describing the problem and your PC's specs in detail.

OK, so the DVD player isn't reading your finished disc. It could just be your DVD player, but here are a couple things to try:

- If you are using a DVD-RW (rewritable), change it to a DVD-R (write once media).....they work better

- Are you using + or - media? Some burners support either. If yours does, try the other type. Some DVD players can read one better than the other.

- Try a different brand of blank DVDs

If all that fails, then your DVD player is probably the problem. Try your discs in multiple DVD players to be sure. Also, the following site might help:

Nope, you don't need to burn at the slowest possible speed, and no you don't need to format it. If you're not able to burn a dvd very easily, then your drive or computer probably has a problem.
