Dont worry, its just a option you have set and its easy to change. Right click on youre desktop go to propoties, click on the screen saver tab, then where it says " wait _ " change that to what ever you want.

There can be more than one reason for this.
One reason, which seemingly you've already
covered, is the way your computer is set.
Right click your mouse. Go to properties.
See where it says "Wait" Right after that, is
a place to set how many minutes you want your
screen to stay on before it closes. You can
choose between one minute and 60. If you
don't like your screen blaning out on you, I
suggest you set it for 60 min. Next, select
Settings which is farther down to the right.
From here you can customize how long you
want your modem, screen, etc to stay on.
You can customiaze various options and give
them different names then select which one
you want to use. You can also select "never"
on all fronts, so it will never turn off.

This may solve your problem.

If it doesnt, you may have an issue with your
ISP provider. If you have a modem ISP, you
have probably chosen settings and phone
numbers. You can go into these settings
and change the number of times it will
call, and this can avoid some interruptions.
You can check with your ISP, dsl or cable
and check which settings you have. They
should probably be able to assist you in this.

Some settings will boot a person off....this
was particularly true with the older aol and
some of the free isps. Try to talk with you
tech support to see what is occurring.
Good luck.

you have to change your settings on the display properties. I don't know if you are running windows xp, I am currently at work and we are running windows 2000. hope steps are the same or similar.

first right click on your desktop and choose properties. display properties will open up. choose screen saver tab, then power on power options look at power schemes tab. it has a option for system standby. you can disable it by choosing "never" or if you want to still have it to go to standby then leave it as it is. go to "advanced" tab and choose, actually unchoose "prompt for password when computer goes off standby" click apply then ok, or just ok to skip a step and ok on display properties. that should remove the system from asking you for the password when you go off standby.

after all that send your system to standby and check if it worked

Right click->Properties->Screen Saver->Monitor Power->Please check monitor power off & Hard disk power off options & udjust them.

Next: Settings->Advanced->check for restart options, when to restart.

or else

It's purely due to virus infections...Please install Norton / Macfee antivirus softwares & sacn your system once...

Please Delete All your Browser History,Cookies,Cache..Go to tools menu-> Options/internet options & clear all the stuff.

Please delete unwanted/unused softwares from long time from your PC.

If still problem persists after doing these are all, please format the HDD & install fresh OS.
