I've had a Volume Icon on my Taskbar since I had this computer in the Start/Taskbar Properties section, but now it's on mute & I don't know how to get it back on the Taskbar to worl properly again.I;ve tried all the solutions e.mailed to me & tried the answers I read on this site to no avail.
The only thing I havn't tried yet is to put my Windows Disk in & re-install the volume again.
Any ideas from you guys would be much appreciated.
Thank-You****REBELCAT:????Looking forward to any possible solutions to this annoyiny problem.>Good-Night.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your sugestions on my question, but I've tried all thos senerios to no avail. I guess I'll have to put my disc in & start over with the Volume issue, seing as my run program only comes up on the Classic menu. Oh well, what can one do? I swear these machines have a mind of their own sometimes. I will get it resolved sooner or later or buy a new computer & staet from scratch. Thanks Again....R./CAT:****

Try to uninstall the Audio drivers and restart the maching and windows XP will reload the drivers back to defaults, it works, the procedure is as follows, Click start-> Right click on My Computer->Click Properties-> click Hardware Tab-> click on Device Manager-> Click on the "+" symbol next to Sound Video and Game controllers, try to uninstall as many this as it allows you to to uninstall right click on each and every thing listed in there, if you find an option for uninstall click it and click ok else go for the next one in the list untill the Sound Video and game controllers is done once that is completed restart teh maching and that will get your audio back to defaults.

look I don't know if you tried to go to the control panel then to sounds and multimedia, and click the box that says "show volume control on the task bar" if it's already checked then uncheck it click on ok and see if it disappears or if it's already gone then go back and click the box again and hopefully it will reappera on your taskbar. also on the "sounds and multimedia" cotrols you can mute/unmute the volume by clicking on the speaker icon on the bottom right hand corner.

hope this helps
