Software - December 2006

I am just wondering. I have the 4.10.6 and i am wanting to get the older one cause when i did have it -it was better than this one so if i were to say download it right now-would it cover up the other one or delete it or not install at all?

i dont want to turn on my firewall, i dont want to download an anti-virus, and i don't want to turn my automatic updates.. but i would like that red logo to stop being there whenever i turn on my pc.. what should i do.. without violating the one mentioned above.

I have a problem with windows media player. All of the files I have purchased online will not play, it comes up with this error message "A Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM) component encountered a problem. If you are trying to use a file that you obtained from an online store, try going to the online store and getting the appropriate usage rights." I have tried this and still it won't work. My media library is quite large - some 2000 songs - so to do everyone individually would be nearly impossible. The last time this happened I upgraded to Media Player 11 and this cured the problem, but now I am back to square 1. Please help

Alright, i have two computers. one new, one old. the new one came with a windows xp service pack 2 disc. since i formatted the old computer recently and had a fresh install of windows xp using the disc. now they said, the number of times of usin` the disc has been exceeded? grr. its been used only twice why does it sound like it has been passed around a million times? why is it like that?

I have a few key websites set up as shortcuts on my desktop (in Windows XP). When I click on some of them, they open a new Web Browser, which is what I want, but with others they go to the URL in a Web Browser that is already open. How can I ensure that shortcuts always open a new browser window?

I'm about to download a program that enables you to create 3d animations. It says that it is 32 bits,(or 10 MB). And there's another one that downloads for 64 bits (or 9.9 MB)
Which one would take up less space on my computer? And whichever one it is, will it take up a lot of space regardless? As in, will either one end up taking up half of my computer space?

hey guys i have a movie file which is in DivX format. its split into three parts. how do i merge those parts. i have the latest complete DivX software.. please help. i am able to play the first file but after a certain time it says downloading but it never plays. i am not able to play the second and third files separately.

i want to make a search form on my site

i want the user on my site to be able to search for location.type.price
all 3 or a mix and match

so after the user makes there deceision i want a results page to come up

I cant burn cds anymore. It keeps saying it doesnt recognize disk, disk cant be formatted, etc. I was using windows media player, then switched to roxio, then I installed nero, used that and worked fine after install. Now none of them will burn. Help!!
