I'm about to download a program that enables you to create 3d animations. It says that it is 32 bits,(or 10 MB). And there's another one that downloads for 64 bits (or 9.9 MB)
Which one would take up less space on my computer? And whichever one it is, will it take up a lot of space regardless? As in, will either one end up taking up half of my computer space?

Would it take up an extremely large amount of space on my computer? Or would it not be too significant?

My computer has 71.6 GB total. It currently has 62.9 GB of available space.

I doubt it will take up half of your computer space i am thinking you have a 20gb hard drive there is a huge difference between 10mb and 10 gb!

If you click on your my computer icon on your desktop then put your mouse on your c drive it will tell you how much free space you have left do that and then we can tell you how much space you would have left after installing

EDIT: With 62gb of space left it is more then safe to install the program it would not even put a dent in your free space :-) you would still be left with over 60gb left

You've got plenty of disk space. You should have no trouble downloading and running the program.

The only thing to watch out for is when you are creating animations. Remember, when you render, it creates an image for each frame. The longer the animation, the bigger the file.

Lastly, 3D is not an easy thing to do. If you are having trouble understanding disk space requirements, 3D may be far beyond your capabilities. You might want to start off with image manipulation (Photoshop) or video editing first. Everything you would learn in those two subjects would be useful if you move onto 3D later.

32-bit and 64-bit refer to the type of processor installed on your computer. In order to use the 64-bit version, you need to have a 64-bit processor as well as the special 64-bit version of Windows. Since you are not versed in 64-bit computing, I am assuming you have a 32-bit system (since nearly all consumer PCs are 32-bit) and should download the 32-bit version of the program. There should be no considerable difference in space requirements, but it doesn't matter - if you have a 32-bit machine, you have no option but to use the 32-bit version of the software.

the 10 MB is a larger file. It will take up just 100K more on your hard drive than the 9.9MB.

the 64 bit will require more memory and processor power than the 32 bit.

IF YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM IS WINDOWS XP
YOU CAN GET THE 32-BIT ONE
THE OTHER CAN ONLY BE USED FOR 64-BIT OS
IN YOUR CASE ,IT IS INVALID
10 OR 9-9 MB IS NEARLY THE SAME
IT IS THE OPERATING SYSTEM THAT DIFFERS
WILL NOT TAKE TOO MUCH SPACE...IT IS ONLY
10 MB
GET THE 32-BIT VERSION
NO ,IT WILL NOT TAKE UP TOO MUCH SPACE!!!
YOU CAN GET IT NOW SAFELY.
