I am getting help regarding my Pc and I have AVG and McAfee installed I have read Neg things regarding both of these. I sent in a HJT (HiJackThis) Log and the Individual that is helping me pointed out that I have 2 and it is best to have 1 AV Program at a time.

So My question to u All is:
If you had to Choose 1 AV program to keep your PC FREE of A Virus.
Which would be the AV Program you would choose above all others?

I had the Sims 2 installed on my computer until I downloaded some custom items from the official site. Then it seemed to uninstall itself. For some reason, when I put the disk in, the computer wants me to install it. All the other files except the main one you click on to play the game are present. The icon just disapeared from my desktop!

I just got Fable for my PC and when I tried to run the program, it said I can not play while my My Documents folder is redirected. It's being redirected to a server on my work network, and it won't let me change it. Is there a way to work around that?

I've had a laptop for over two years. It's got the same legal copy of Windows XP on it that it came with. For over a year it worked fine. I don't know what I did, but the USB ports stopped working. They are NOT physically broken. Windows XP says there's something wrong with the driver. It says I need to update the BIOS on my motherboard. If it worked fine for over a year why would I all of a sudden need a BIOS upgrade now? Just out of curiousity, I ran Linux from a DVD and the USB ports work fine under Linux. I want to keep using Windows XP on this computer though. It's an SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller. The control panel just says "Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardwre but cannon find the hardware device (Code 41). How could Windows be so retarded? How can I get this to work WITHOUT changing the BIOS?

I was recommended to install Norton Anti virus on my computer but my friends say it's bad and it dramatically slows down my computer.

Any recommendations on a free anti virus program that works really well or even one that you have to pay for that's definitly worth the money. I've heard there are many programs out there that are better then Norton. What Anti virus programs are better and more productive?

My OS is Windows 2000. This seemed to happen when trying to download ViviCam software. I was told to reboot my system, now it shows a purple/pink background with no icons, start button or way to get into anything except through the task manager. I've run my spyware and anti virus software, but nothing is helping. I get a message when clicking task manager saying, " the application or DLLC:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\browseuidll is not a valid Windows image." What does that mean?
