I assume you are in the UK as this is UK Yahoo. An upgrade XP disk will cost about £60 on eBay. They are retail disks so they are not tied to one machine as an OEM disk is.

make sure your computer is up to it, i had 2000,and wanted my compuer upgrading but was told my computer itself wouldnt be up to it, and decided it would be easier to buy a new one with xp on.

it depends on if you have enough memory and a big enough hard drive and a fast enough processor but its about $100.00 for an xp disc

Forget XP that's old school Get on the band waggon Get Vista trust me you'll regret it if you don't I've been using it for months.
