Software - December 2006

Okay i have got this games called CSI loaded up on my computer from it's cd only problem is now i want to remove it and it won't budge and keeps putting up an error message
and the error message says
"An error (-5002: 0x2) has occured while running the setup please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications If error stil occurs, please contact your vendor :UBI soft" {really do not want to do that } if i ask for details it says the following "Error code (-5002: 0x2)

I have recently (legaly) downloaded several videos which i would like to play on my DVD player. The videos are in movie clip format and i would like to burmn them to a DVD-R. Is there any software (preferably free) that i can use to convert these files to DVD format (.bup, .vob, .ifo according to nero) to allow them to play them on my DVD player. My DVD player is multi-regional if it helps.

this is the message im getting: You can upload a résumé that you have already created here. Any résumés you choose to upload must be saved in rich text format (RTF). however when i do so it doesnt allow me. I added an extention .rtf when i saved it, but still no luck.

Has anyone had any problems with Windows SP2 ( Service Pack 2 ) ?
After re-installing XP, and SP2 after that, SP2 presented me with this message "SP2 CANNOT INSTALL PROPERLY AS YOUR SYSTEM IS UNSTABLE (hugh ??) THEREFORE UNINSTALL SP2 NOW". Removing SP2 messed up my PC completely. Has anyone had problems with Windows SP2 ( Service Pack 2 ) -- what problems and how did you solve them. Thanks.

hai,

i have 25 sys connected to same domain. i have one pc recently connected. pc has win 2000. if i click on network neighbourhood, i can see only few machines but not all why.

but i can ping the machine which is not visible
also if i do start -> run and give the machine's ip address which is not visible in the network neighbourhood, then i can see the contents of that machine.

what setting i have to make so that when i click on network neighbourhood i see all the machines ?

i have shared c and d drive of all machines.

I would like to create my own music. I would specifically like to be able to 'write' music for specific orchestral instruments, and put the music together from a group of instruments, and in effect, be a composer, director, and instrument player at the same time.

is 'Sound Forge' able to do this?

i'm not looking for something that will just put together music tracks, i want something with which i can create my own music altogether.
it would allow me to 'record' my own soundtracks without having to use an orchestra. if there is something like this out there, let me know. thanks.

When I was younger I remember my parents having some kind of program that coul be used in a journal type manner. It was neatly and pleasently constructed, easy to use, you could view a monthly calender, weekly, daily, etc. I asked them about it - and of course they don't remember.
I don't want anything too complicated or extravagant, just something simple I can start to keep better track and better organized.
I also don't want anything that is online, etc. it is for personal use and viewing.
I have tried to just going back to writing in a journal, but I have this bad womanly habit of not continuing it, and I also seem to end up collecting "cute" possible future journal books instead of actually writing in them.
I use the computer everyday because of school, etc. And my laptop is with me constantly so I thought this would be perfect.
Any one know of anything good out their for us electronic jurnal keepers??
