Software - October 2006

I am a novice, so Layman terms please... :-)
I want to be able to make Pet calenders, put differant backgrounds on family phots, make my own family christmas cards.. ect...
I had some software with an old computer i think it was called Photo suite.. Can you guys reccommend any other? what to stay away from?....... Ta very much...... :-)

Can a mod chip be found inside a video game system? And if it can is thare a way I can install it onto a computer? And can you tell me anything else about mod chips that would be helpful? Everything you know about them... If you got that kind of time. Thank you and good day.

please advise on what i could do with my problem.
i installed the yahoo toolbar with norton spyware scan
and after scanning my computer there were no spywares found but i noticed that all my important files were missing. i found out that they were all in the quarantine folder of norton anti spyware.
now i couldnt get them out of there because theres no option
that i could unquarantine them. they were even replaced with filenames such as
<{99DDD001-FC2E-42E5-82EE-4653CBD81807}> i tried opening them
with their respective programs but still it cant be opened.

i badly need your help. i really need those files.
hope to hear from you guys.

1 It is minimally installed now.

2 That means I have to insert the disk every
time in order to use it !!

When I turn on my computer the manufactures logo appears and then disapears but before I get to the windows progress screen a messege that reads "disk read error occured" comes up telling me to restart. I tried tapping on F8 to try and boot in safe mode but that didn't work and I got the same error messege. Thanks

I recently bought a MSI nVIDIA Geforce 7 series video card (the NX7600GS) and it came with the gme TOCA Race Driver 3...I was wondering if anyone else bought that video card with this game included and when they are playing it, it starts to lag quite a bit?

Alright, say I have 20 still photos, and a few videos in WMM.. I have a 5 minute mp3 song playing, which is cool during the still photo slideshow style thing, but I want to drop the volume of the song when the actual videos come up, so I can hear the audio of the video I shot...

It seems I can only change the volume balance of the two audio tracks for the WHOLE movie, not just the little clips.....

My computer has a DVD burning drive but there apears to be no software to let me use it. Can I just use media player or realplayer or do I need a diffrent program. If so does anyone know where I can download a Program to assist me?

I am thinking about keeping XP, but don't know about the newest editions of Vista. I've seen some of it's features, and am not impressed. Give me your opinion on whether vista is right for a graphic designer/photographer.

I also think that the features won't be benificial. they seem like the old XP's hidden features. For instance, XP has a built-in index (and by the way it starts to index right away), and can be searchable, just like MSN Desktop Search. I don't want to upgrade, but the more I think about it, the more I want to.

XP has plenty of enhancements, but Microsoft won't be supporting XP after 2007 or so. I hope you can help me out.

Oh, by the way, I have a old 478-pin processor, but don't think that a Pentium 4 HT upgrade is going to help, even if I do have a Celeron.

Please answer my question with as much detail as possible. THX.

Does anyone know of product on the market that works with XP Professional, and gives one more space to store bookmarks? Don't know what capacity above OS gives you, but think mine maybe full, because starting to loose stuff, and that's fun when so so link bumps vip one.
