Software - October 2006

I'm into the "old school" games, circa, the late '80s to 1990s for both the PC and consoles. I've not found any good reviews sites for older games, as the sites mostly cater to the newer generation of games. Which sites can you recommend?

Is it possible to cut out hair from a photo without using layers or blending and without cropping the entire photo?
I tried using the lasso tool but is there a way to do it where it looks natural and not pieced out from the picture?

I have my own computer with PHP, MySQL, Apache, Filezilla, and Mercury installed and it works fine. I already have a website at a remote hosting site and it works great except it is a shared server and often very slow. I wanted to move all of my website that uses PHP, MySQL and Apache to my own computer because 1 I get a ton more space, 2 I barely use it, and 3 there is a local computer store in town that I think would be able to provide the internet and DNS-stuff for my computer. I want to know what the requirements are. I have Windows XP, 256 MB of RAM, 1 55 GB and 1 8 GB harddrive, and 1.3 GHz (i think). I mainly want to put it on my computer because I can do anything with it, including mail which i couldn't use with the other and plenty of other things.

I have several tapes recorded from a "Video 8 Handycam". PAL SYSTEM. I would like to convert them and be able to watch them in a NTSC Tv. It is possible? Any idea how? Any software out there that can do this? Thanks.

The color white appears as light blue. The color codes are all set at 255 and the html code is set at fffff but it still appears as light blue. It still prints up as white. I don't have the issue with any other programs just on PSPX.
Does anyone know how to remedy this?

i normally dont like these type of desktop enhancements but after a while the defualt sounds ect from windows become a bit boring

I have just visited the Redhat website and I wanted to download a copy of Linux OS. The site recommended using BitTorrent.

When I visited the page, I found there is a long list of torrent files there.

May I know which file do I need to download? Or which group of files?

After downloading, how do I use it/them to install the Linux OS?

Its kind of confusing. Can you please explain it explicitly? Thanks.

I use to receive belowmentioned Message while using my Adobe Reader. Please help me in correcting the same as my adobe gets close
Message is:

my laptop automatically downloaded windows update, then prompted me to restart. but it now begins to start them switches off. i have tried the discs that came with it, but they dont do it , it refused to open in safe mode. microsoft website is useless as they wont help unless i know the number ,but i need to start the computer to find the number.......or pay £37.
i took it to a repair man who said use the windows dics. ...no good.
