does anyone know where you can download different sounds for windows xp and also different mouse pointers
i normally dont like these type of desktop enhancements but after a while the defualt sounds ect from windows become a bit boring
is there any complete packages i.e sounds icons,pointers ,wallpapers, if so were can i download them

Hi,
There are literally hundreds of thousands of sites out there where you can download these "themes" - Try searching using a string like * "desktop theme" free download * plus a chosen subject of your choice.
http://www.tucows.com/Windows/DesktopEnhancements/Themes/ on Tucows should get you started. Look on the left hand side for all the categories of themes you can choose from.
Microsoft has plenty as a good starting point too. See http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/desktop/default.mspx
The MS Office site has lots to download and try too. Have a look at; http://tinyurl.com/6ckje for some new sounds you can download and use.
