Security - June 2007

I have Norton Internet Security 2003 on my xp. Is it still safe and suffient to continue using it? I am thinking about renewing it and want to know if I will still get the most up to date definitions etc. It still seems to work ok for me.. Does anyone else still use NIS 2003 and are you satisfied with it? please no talk of free programs THANKS!!

I would like to know what security needs to be implemented to legally store customers personal information in a database. e.g. SSN, birthdays, address, etc. Encryption is clearly a given. But is there a certain design and programming requirements?

I would appreciate a link to a site or multiple sites so I can do further research on this topic.

Okay i am trying to get rid of viruses and thisa thing that is trapped in my registry. But im trying to find something online for free for temporary till i can go buy one. Does anyone know where i can find one online that does more than just do a scan for freeand then tries to get you to buy the product. Some of the things im trying to remove are "BookedSpace","Popper",and "Webhancer". Please help me. Thanks.

I know this creepy guy who I have a gut feeling is hacking into my computer. Is there some kind of software I can use to see it he is hacking? If he is hacking can he see all the websites I've visited and the documents I have and all my passwords too?!?!?!

Can a website i've visited store any other kind of information on my hard drive except cookies? If so; how would I excess this information and possibly delete these? If I had blocked all websites from viewing any kind of cookies on my computer, Would they still be able to read them? Thanks.

my laptop is protected by norton antivirus until a few days ago, these pop-ups from everywhere kept on coming up. its so sudden. i have norton antivirus, google and yahoo toolbar, windows defender, and ad-adware 2007. they keep coming up. internet explorer keeps telling me that to use drivecleaner.com, winantivirus, and spywaredoctor.com

it wont stop
im desperate to stop them
please help me!!

I want to block Myspace from my kids but they are always getting around it. Is there a way using the host file to bock myspace? I have blocked www.myspace.com but since the domain can me mail.myspace or blog.myspace exct there are so many other addresses. is there a way to use a wild card? (example *.myspace.com) Thanks!

I have a guest crashing for a while and wanted to set up the computer so he can ONLY access the internet; none of my private files and drives. He's a computer scientist so naturally I'm a little weary of him, until at least I start to trust him a little more. i installed pest trap through panda, it works well but my com, wont reconize it even though it is working and keeps giveing me anoying pop ups saying to install an antivirus progam
